What We Believe:
I understand that if you are going to trust me to teach you about spiritual matters, you'd probably like to know what I believe.
I believe:
- that there is one God, Creator of all things, revealed in 3 Persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that He is worthy of our praise.
- that Jesus Christ was the only begotten Son of God, and He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of Mary, a virgin, lived a sinless life, and He was both truly a man and truly God. He was crucified, died, and buried, and was resurrected on the 3rd day. He ascended into Heaven and is now seated at the right of God, making intercession for us according to the will of God. He is the Head and we are the body.
- that the Holy Spirit is a equal and vital part of the Trinity, and that He has over 70 functions in a believers life, some of which are that He leads, He is the Helper, He is the Comforter, the Teacher, and the One who walks beside us.
- that the Bible is God's Blood Covenant Word. It is the inspired, infallible, authoritative words written to mankind. His Word is the first and final authority in a believer's life, as well as the only foundation for faith. I believe that if you do not understand Covenant, you will not truly understand the Bible.
- that man was created in the image and likeness of God. But because of Adam's transgression in the Garden of Eden, sin entered the world. We, as human beings, have ALL sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Since that day in the Garden, every human being has been born with a sinful nature, and because of that, it is our nature for all of us to rebel against God and His laws.
- that God is not angry at mankind or any one person, no matter what they have done, or have not done. God loves us; He says so in His Word. He loves us so much, in fact, that He sent His only Son to die on a horrific death on a cross as a payment for our sin. In the Old Testament, God was wrathful toward sin. But on the cross, he poured His wrath out on Jesus who became sin and took the punishment for all of mankind.
- I believe that to enter the Kingdom of God we must be born again. This is through God's grace, together with our faith, and that faith is not even from us, it is the gift of God. I believe that upon salvation God gives us a new nature, His nature, and there is nothing we can do, or need to do, to clean our life up first. God alone changes our hearts and we become a new creation, alive to God and dead to our old sinful nature.
-I believe that Jesus is coming again soon, as prophesied in both the Old and the New testaments.
-I do not believe in 'beating people over the head' with the Word of God. I promise to treat everyone with respect and kindness, no matter what they believe.
